Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
As a photographer I’m enamored by the vast and impressive history of
those who have come before me. I have a lot of influences and I think its
important to remember the past that we come from. In this series I used
alternative photo processes from the 1800’s to depict the darkroom ritual,
and symbols that relate to alchemy, I want this work to give hope to those
grieving the slow demise of classic photography. I want to show that the rich
history of photography that has been seated in a marriage with alchemy still
has a strong future, because there is great importance in remembering the
roots that modern photography comes from.
